A forced or dynamic cooling is equipped with a fan that blows the cold air through the cooling. This accelerates the cooling and creates an air flow and therefore an even temperature in the cooling. A big advantage of forced cooling is that after opening and closing the door, the cooling is back to temperature quite quickly.
Static cooling is cooled by the cooling element present. The air circulation is limited and is generated naturally, whereby cold air descends and warm air rises. Depending on the zones, considerable temperature differences can occur; the temperature will be lower at the bottom of the cabinet than at the top of the cabinet. Static freezers are less affected by temperature differences due to the fixed racks that are also cooled. If you plan to fill your cooling with boxes, static cooling is better because with forced cooling the air cannot circulate properly when the cabinet is full. It is also advisable to purchase static cooling when you cool products that are sensitive to drying out.

Refrigerants are divided into natural refrigerants and synthetic refrigerants. The best-known refrigerant is probably freon, the (now banned) liquid/vapour in refrigerators.
Refrigerants are selected according to their (pressure-dependent) boiling point, depending on the application. The boiling point at low pressure must be lower than the temperature of the reservoir from which heat is to be extracted and the boiling point at high pressure must be higher than the temperature of the reservoir from which heat is to be released. The associated pressures must of course be practically feasible.
Commonly used refrigerants are hydrofluorocarbons, alkanes (butane, propane, isobutane), propylene, ammonia and carbon dioxide.
